Roast Turkey with Apple Stuffing

   Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

   If needed, untie the turkey legs; pat the turkey dry with paper towels. Set the turkey in a lidded roasting pan; rub oil over the inside and outside of the turkey.

   Stuff the body and neck cavities with apple quarters; place whole apples around the turkey in the roasting pan. Scatter any remaining apple quarters in the pan. Cover the roasting pan.

   Bake in the preheated oven until the skin is browned and the meat starts to pull away from the legs, 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Remove the lid for the last 20 minutes of baking to brown the skin further. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the breast should register at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
