Asparagus Roll Ups
Asparagus Roll Ups feature tender spears tucked into thin, buttery bread with a bacon, chive, and cream cheese filling, then finished with a toasty Parmesan crust. Each bite balances salty, tangy, and herbaceous notes with a warm, crisp exterior. Ideal for appetizers or party snacks when you want something rich and satisfying in a handheld package.

- 1
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- 2
Grease a baking sheet.
- 3
Place the bacon in a large, deep skillet and cook over medium-high heat, turning now and then, until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Drain the slices on a paper towel-lined plate.
- 4
Once the bacon is cool, crumble it and set it aside in a bowl.
- 5
Put the asparagus spears in a large skillet and add about 1 inch of water. Set over medium heat, cover, and simmer until bright green and slightly tender, about 5 minutes. Remove the asparagus and set aside.
- 6
Add the cream cheese and chives to the bowl with the bacon and stir until evenly combined.
- 7
Using a rolling pin, roll each slice of bread on a work surface until thin and flat.
- 8
Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over each bread slice.
- 9
Place 2 asparagus spears in the center of a bread slice, then roll the bread around the asparagus into a neat, compact cylinder. Place seam side down on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
- 10
Brush each roll with melted butter and sprinkle each with about 1 1/2 teaspoon Parmesan cheese.
- 11
Bake in the preheated oven until lightly golden brown and hot, 10 to 12 minutes.
