Arrange the lettuce leaves on a plate and set aside.

Warm a small skillet over medium heat. Add the butter and swirl to coat the skillet. Add the onion and cook until soft, 3 to 4 minutes.

Place the American cheese on the hamburger halves. Microwave for about 20 seconds to melt the cheese.

Whisk the eggs and milk in a small bowl until slightly frothy. Pour the egg mixture into the skillet. Cover the skillet with a lid and cook until the eggs are just set, about 5 minutes. Place the hamburger halves on one side of the eggs. Top with the onion, bacon, tomato, and pickle. Fold the other half of the eggs over the top.
