Banana Boats
Banana Boats are a fireside treat where ripe bananas are split and packed with melty chocolate chips and fluffy mini marshmallows, then warmed in foil until soft and gooey. The contrast of warm, caramelizing banana with molten chocolate and marshmallow makes it a fun dessert for campouts or backyard cookouts, perfect for scooping straight from the peel.

Build a campfire and let it burn until a bed of coals forms. Rake the coals into a flat layer on one side of the fire.
- 2
Cut a lengthwise slit in each banana through the peel, being careful not to cut through to the other side. Fill the bananas with marshmallows and chocolate chips. Wrap each filled banana in aluminum foil.
- 3
Cook the bananas over the fire until the chocolate is melted, about 5 minutes. Carefully unwrap the foil and eat with a spoon.
