Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease two 9x5-inch loaf pans.

Cream the sugar and shortening in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the bananas, cranberry sauce, milk, and vanilla.
