    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease two 9x5-inch loaf pans.

    Cream the sugar and shortening in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the bananas, cranberry sauce, milk, and vanilla.

    In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg; gradually stir this into the banana mixture. Fold in the walnuts. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pans.

    Bake in the preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the centers comes out clean. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and let cool completely.
