    Shape the ground beef into meatballs. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the meatballs, turning as needed, until browned, about 7 minutes.

    Transfer the meatballs to the slow cooker. Cook on High until the sauce thickens, about 5 hours. Remove the bay leaves before serving.
