Gingered Blueberry Sparkler

    In a saucepan over medium-high heat, bring the blueberries, water, sugar, and ginger to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, occasionally crushing the blueberries with a masher.

    Remove from the heat and let it cool for about 10 minutes.

    Press the mixture through a food mill or a fine-mesh sieve to strain out the blueberry skins.

    Set aside 1/4 cup of the syrup and refrigerate the rest for up to 1 week.

    Fill a glass with crushed ice.

    Add the reserved blueberry-ginger syrup and the orange juice.

    Top with club soda and stir to combine.
