Bread Maker Calzone Pockets

   To prepare the dough, add the water, yeast, sugar, flour, salt, and powdered milk to the bread machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Choose the Dough cycle. When the cycle finishes, roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface.

   Meanwhile, cook the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat for about 8 to 10 minutes until browned. Drain off the excess fat and set aside.

   Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

   Shape the dough into a 16x10-inch rectangle. Move it to a lightly greased cookie sheet and spoon the pizza sauce lengthwise down the center, then add the browned sausage and cheese. Make diagonal cuts 1 1/2 inches apart along each long side of the rectangle, cutting to within 1/2 inch of the filling. Cross the cut strips over the filling and seal the edges with water. Brush the top of the calzone with melted butter.

   Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 35 to 45 minutes, or until golden brown. Take it out of the oven and let cool for 5 minutes, then slice and serve.
