Dinner 🍽️Lunch 🥪 Japanese 🇯🇵American High-Protein 💪Pescatarian 🐟

Cedar-Planked Salmon with Brown Sugar–Sesame Glaze delivers gently smoky aromas from the soaked wood and a glossy, caramel-kissed crust from brown sugar and sesame. The fish stays moist and flaky, with nutty sesame notes, a hint of soy, and subtle dill. It’s an elegant choice for a weeknight dinner or a relaxed backyard cookout.

Cedar-Planked Salmon with Brown Sugar–Sesame Glaze
  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).

  2. 2

In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, sesame oil, sesame seeds, and dill. Mix in water a little at a time, adding just enough to make the mixture liquid, then stir in soy sauce and pepper.

  3. 3

Set the salmon fillets, skin-side down, on the soaked cedar plank. Spoon the sugar mixture evenly over the fillets to fully coat.

  4. 4

Place the cedar plank directly on a rack in the preheated oven; bake until the fish flakes easily with a fork, 30 to 40 minutes.
