    Combine flour, 1 cup plus 3 tablespoons butter, and nutmeg in a large bowl until well mixed. Stir in 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons milk until the dough comes together.

    On a floured work surface, roll the dough to 1/4-inch thickness and cut it into small pieces.

    Heat oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Fry the dough pieces in batches until they are golden brown and float to the top, 3 to 5 minutes.
