Crispy Panko-Fried Shrimp

Appetizer 🧄Dinner 🍽️Lunch 🥪Snack 🍿 American Pescatarian 🐟

Crispy Panko-Fried Shrimp delivers a light, ultra-crunchy bite that gives way to sweet, succulent jumbo shrimp. The seasoned flour and egg help the panko cling tightly, creating a crackling shell that stays crisp. It’s ideal for a quick weeknight dinner or a casual appetizer with dipping sauces.

Crispy Panko-Fried Shrimp
  1. 1

    Assemble all the ingredients.

  2. 2

Combine the flour, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl. In a second medium bowl, beat the eggs until frothy. Put the bread crumbs in a third bowl.

  3. 3

Coat the shrimp in the flour mixture, then shake off any excess.

  4. 4

Dip the shrimp into the beaten eggs.

  5. 5

Press the shrimp into the bread crumbs, turning to cover both sides.

  6. 6

Heat 2 inches of oil in a large, heavy pot to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Deep-fry the shrimp in batches in the hot oil until cooked through, about 1 minute. Use tongs to move the shrimp to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Repeat with the remaining shrimp.

  7. 7

Place the shrimp on a platter to serve.
