    Line a baking sheet with waxed paper.

    In a large bowl, stir together the oats, chocolate chips, coconut, and almonds.

    Whisk the sugar, milk, butter, and salt in a saucepan; bring the mixture to a boil, add the vanilla, and remove from heat.

    Pour the milk mixture over the chocolate chips mixture; stir until well combined.

    Drop spoonfuls of the chocolate mixture onto the prepared baking sheet.

    Chill in the refrigerator until the haystacks are set, 15 to 20 minutes.
