Ultra-Smooth Stovetop Hummus

    In a small bowl, combine the tahini, lemon juice, cumin, fennel, salt, pepper, and hot sauce, stirring to mix.

    Warm the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook the garlic powder in the hot oil until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add 1 1/2 cup water. Whisk in the chickpea flour until smooth. Gradually whisk in the remaining 1 cup water. Bring to a boil while whisking constantly. Lower the heat to low; cook and stir until the mixture thickens, about 15 minutes.

    Using a rubber spatula, transfer the chickpea mixture to a large bowl. Add the tahini mixture and whisk until fully combined.
