  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lay a sheet of parchment paper or plastic wrap on your work surface and dust it with flour. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

Beat the butter in a bowl with an electric mixer until fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add 3/4 cup sugar and keep beating until the mixture lightens in color, about 2 minutes more.

  3. 3

Combine the flour, green tea powder, and salt in a separate bowl; gradually add this to the creamed butter mixture, beating on low speed until the dough holds together. Roll the dough to 1/4-inch thickness on the floured parchment paper; cut into 2-inch cookies or bars. Gather and reroll the remaining dough and cut more cookies until all the dough is used. Refrigerate for 10 minutes.

  4. 4

Carefully move the cookies to the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle sugar over each cookie.

  5. 5

Bake in the preheated oven until firm and just beginning to turn golden, about 15 minutes. Cool completely.
