Assemble all the ingredients.

In a small bowl, combine the maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic, garlic salt, and pepper, and stir together.

Slice the salmon into 4 equal fillets; set them in a shallow glass baking dish and coat with the maple syrup mixture.

Cover the dish and marinate the salmon in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, turning once halfway through.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake the salmon uncovered until the flesh flakes easily with a fork, about 20 minutes.
