    Combine water and bouillon cubes in a large pot over medium-high heat, stirring until the bouillon cubes dissolve. Add pork, rutabaga, carrots, and celery; bring to a boil. Lower the heat to medium-low and simmer until the vegetables are tender, about 40 minutes.

    Stir hominy and kidney beans into the soup; simmer until the hominy and pork are tender, about 30 minutes more. Season with salt and black pepper.
