Dinner 🍽️Lunch 🥪 American High-Protein 💪Low-CarbKeto 🥩Paleo 🦴

Skillet-Seared Chicken Breasts deliver crisp, golden skin and tender, juicy meat with a bright pan sauce. Apple cider vinegar and cold butter create a silky, tangy glaze that highlights fresh herbs without overpowering the chicken. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner, it pairs well with simple sides like greens or roasted vegetables.

Skillet-Seared Chicken Breasts
  1. 1

    Assemble all the ingredients.

  2. 2

Season the chicken on both sides with salt and pepper.

  3. 3

Heat the olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high until it begins to shimmer. Set the chicken breasts skin-side down in the skillet. Sprinkle with fresh herbs. Cook until the bottoms are well seared and golden brown, 5 to 6 minutes.

  4. 4

Flip the chicken breasts and keep cooking until an instant-read thermometer inserted in the center of a breast registers 150 degrees F (66 degrees C), about 5 minutes.

  5. 5

Add the vinegar and cold butter to the pan with the chicken. Gently shake the pan until the butter melts and the chicken’s internal temperature reaches at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C), 2 to 3 minutes more.

  6. 6

Stir in 1 tablespoon chicken broth to thin the sauce.
