    Heat the olive oil in a medium saucepan. Sauté the onion until tender. Stir in the tomatoes and the entire can of beans. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.

    Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until slightly firm; drain.

    Combine the pasta with the bean mixture and add salt to taste.
