    Gather all the ingredients. Position the oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven broiler.

    Combine the steak and meat tenderizer in a bowl.

    Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and bell pepper; cook and stir until slightly softened, about 3 minutes.

    Stir in the steak mixture; cook and stir until the flavors blend, about 3 minutes. Mix in the Italian seasoning and pepper; add the mushrooms. Cook and stir until the steak is mostly browned, about 3 minutes.
