    Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

    Coat the bottom of a baking dish with a drizzle of olive oil. Season the squash halves with salt and pepper; place them cut-side down in the prepared dish.

    Bake in the preheated oven until a fork easily pierces the skin and flesh, about 25 minutes. Turn the squash halves over and roast for 5 minutes more.
