    In a large pot, bring the chicken stock, potatoes, garlic, and saffron to a boil; cover and simmer until the potatoes are tender, about 20 minutes.

    Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot; set aside the cooking stock for another use. Add the milk, olive oil, salt, and black pepper; mash the potatoes with a potato masher until smooth.
