    Add the crushed tomatoes and cook until the liquid from the tomatoes evaporates.

    Salt to taste.

    Meanwhile, prepare the mashed potatoes as directed on the packet.

    Spread the meat mixture in the bottom of an ovenproof dish.

    Cover with a layer of mashed potatoes and top with grated cheese.

    Bake at 400 degrees F (205 degrees C) for 10 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and browned.
