    Put the potatoes, water, broth, and garlic in a pot. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat to medium-low and cook until tender, about 15 minutes.

    Drain the potatoes and save the cooking water. Return the potatoes to the pot and stir over medium heat until any extra moisture cooks off, about 1 minute.

    Take the pot off the heat. Add some of the reserved cooking water and the rice milk, alternating between them, while stirring briskly. Stop before the potatoes get too soggy or liquid starts to pool in the pot.
