Spicy Pulled Pork melds tender, slow-cooked pork with a smoky-sweet sauce layered with chili, paprika, adobo, and cayenne. The meat shreds softly into a peppery, tangy glaze balanced by tomatoes, barbecue sauce, and a hint of brown sugar—perfect for piling onto buns, stuffing into tacos, or serving with slaw for game day or casual gatherings.

  1. 1

In a large bowl, combine flour, chili powder, paprika, cumin, adobo seasoning, and cayenne pepper. Add the pork and toss to coat.

  2. 2

Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat; cook the pork in batches in the hot butter until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes. Move the browned pork to a slow cooker.

  3. 3

For the sauce, cook and stir the onion and garlic in the same skillet over medium heat until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in the tomatoes, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, and hot sauce; simmer for 5 minutes. Pour the sauce over the pork.

  4. 4

Cook on Low for 5 to 6 hours. Transfer the pork to a plate and shred with 2 forks. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and stir to coat with the sauce. Continue cooking, uncovered, until thickened, 10 to 15 minutes.
