    Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the celery, onion, mushrooms, and parsley; cook, stirring, until softened, 5 to 7 minutes.

    In a large bowl, mix the bread cubes with the cooked vegetables. Add the salt, sage, poultry seasoning, thyme, pepper, and marjoram, and toss well. Add the egg and enough broth to moisten.

    Lightly pack the stuffing mixture into a slow cooker. Cover and cook on High for 45 minutes. Reduce to Low and cook for 4 to 8 hours.
