    Cook the pasta in a large pot of boiling water until slightly firm. Drain.

    In a large skillet, cook and stir the ground beef and the chopped onion over medium heat until browned. Mix in the tomato soup, diced tomatoes, and taco seasoning mix. Stir in the pasta.

    Spoon the beef mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle crumbled taco chips and grated cheese over the top.
