  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with oil.

  2. 2

Put the onion and carrots in a saucepan and add the beef broth. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer; cook, stirring frequently, until the vegetables are tender, about 8 minutes. Set the vegetables and broth aside.

  3. 3

In a large bowl, beat the eggs, then stir in the bread crumbs, basil, salt, and black pepper.

  4. 4

Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes to moisten the crumbs, then gently mix in the turkey, beef, and pork sausage.

  5. 5

Mix in the cooked onions, carrots, and beef broth. Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan.

  6. 6

In a bowl, combine the tomato soup, balsamic vinegar, and Dijon mustard, and spread this mixture over the meat loaf.

  7. 7

Bake until the loaf is no longer pink in the center and an instant-read thermometer registers at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C), about 1 1/2 hours.
