    Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

    Add the onion, celery, carrot, green pepper, and garlic; sauté until tender.

    Stir in the tomatoes, chili powder, tomato paste, vinegar, and pepper.

    Cover, reduce the heat, and simmer for 10 minutes.

    Stir in the kidney beans, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

    Cut a 1/4 inch slice from the top of each kaiser roll; set aside.

    Hollow out the center of each roll, leaving shells about 1/2 inch thick; reserve the insides of the rolls for other uses.

    Spoon the bean mixture evenly into the rolls and replace the tops.

    Serve immediately.
