Ingredients

  • 1.5 Teaspoons Old Bay Seasoning™
  • 2 Tablespoons biscuit baking mix
  • 1 Tablespoon dried parsley
  • 2 Tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 Tablespoon prepared mustard
  • 1 Large egg, whisked
  • 0.25 Teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Pound crabmeat
  • 2 Quarts vegetable oil

Steps

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine Old Bay™ seasoning, biscuit baking mix, and dried parsley.
  2. Stir in mayonnaise, prepared mustard, whisked egg, and Worcestershire sauce until well mixed.
  3. Gently fold in the crabmeat, being careful not to break it up too much.
  4. Form the mixture into 6 to 8 balls.
  5. Heat 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large, heavy-bottomed skillet to 365°F (185°C).
  6. Place the crab balls in the skillet and flatten them slightly with a spatula.
  7. Fry for about 3 minutes on one side until browned, then flip and continue frying until fully cooked.
  8. Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and drain on paper towels before serving.
