Ingredients

  • 2 - 6 Ounces (oz) cans crabmeat, drained
  • 11 - Ounces (oz) cream cheese, packaged
  • 5 - Tablespoons (tbsp) mayonnaise
  • 1 - Small onion, minced
  • 0.125 - Teaspoon (tsp) garlic powder
  • 1 - Pinch salt, to taste
  • 1 - Pinch pepper, to taste
  • 1 - 1 Pound (lb) loaf round, crusty Italian bread, torn

Steps

  1. Gather all ingredients.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  3. In a medium bowl, combine crabmeat, cream cheese, mayonnaise, onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Spread the mixture into a 1-quart baking dish.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, cut a circle in the top of the bread and scoop out the inside to create a bread bowl. Tear the removed bread into pieces for dipping.
  5. Stir the baked crab dip and spoon it into the bread bowl. Place the bread bowl and chunks of bread on a medium baking sheet; bake for an additional 10 minutes. Serve hot.
