Ingredients

  • 2 Sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 Medium apples, peeled
  • 0.5 Cups granulated sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) cinnamon, ground
  • 0.25 Teaspoon (tsp) nutmeg, ground
  • 0.5 Cups raisins
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) lemon juice
  • 1 Large egg, whisked
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) milk

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, raisins, and lemon juice. Mix well to coat the apples evenly.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface to smooth out any creases.
  4. Divide the apple mixture evenly between the two sheets of puff pastry, placing the filling along one edge of each sheet.
  5. Carefully roll the pastry over the filling, tucking in the edges as you go to seal the strudel.
  6. Place the strudels seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the whisked egg and milk. Brush this mixture over the top of each strudel to give it a golden finish.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and crisp.
  9. Allow the strudels to cool slightly before slicing and serving. Enjoy your delicious Quick Puff Pastry Apple Strudel!
