- 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) dried oregano, crumbled
- 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) coriander, ground
- 0.25 Teaspoon (tsp) cinnamon, ground
- 4 Pounds (lb) boneless pork shoulder roast
- 2 Whole bay leaves
- 2 Cups chicken broth
Steps
- Gather all the ingredients.
- In a bowl, mix together the salt, garlic powder, cumin, oregano, coriander, and cinnamon. Coat the pork shoulder roast with this spice mixture.
- Place the bay leaves at the bottom of a slow cooker and arrange the pork on top. Pour the chicken broth around the sides of the pork, ensuring not to rinse off the spice mixture.
- Cover and cook on low heat, turning the pork after 5 hours. Continue cooking until the pork shreds easily with a fork, approximately 10 hours in total.
- Once the pork is tender, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Use the cooking liquid as needed to moisten the meat.
