Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) light soy sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) Chinese rice wine
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) fresh ginger root, minced
  • 1 Large clove garlic, minced
  • 4 6 Ounces (oz) tuna steaks
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) vegetable oil

Steps

  1. In a shallow dish, combine the soy sauce, rice wine, minced ginger, and minced garlic. Place the tuna steaks in the marinade, turning to coat evenly. Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
  2. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  3. Remove the tuna steaks from the marinade, discarding any remaining liquid. Brush both sides of the steaks with vegetable oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Grill the tuna steaks on the preheated grill for 3 to 6 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired level of doneness. Be careful not to overcook, as tuna can become dry quickly.
  5. Serve immediately, enjoying the rich and savory flavors of the ginger teriyaki marinade.
