Serving Size: 16

Cooking Time: 310 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 12 Pounds (lb) whole turkey
  • 6 Tablespoons (tbsp) butter, divided
  • 4 Cups warm water
  • 3 Tablespoons (tbsp) chicken bouillon
  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) dried parsley
  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) dried onion, minced
  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) seasoning salt

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Rinse and wash the turkey, discarding the giblets or adding them to the pan if desired.
  2. Place the turkey in a Dutch oven or roasting pan. Gently separate the skin over the breast to create small pockets. Insert 3 tablespoons of butter on both sides between the skin and breast meat for extra juiciness.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix the warm water with chicken bouillon. Add the parsley and minced onion, then pour the mixture over the turkey. Sprinkle seasoning salt evenly over the turkey.
  4. Cover the turkey with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 3 1/2 to 4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 180 degrees F (80 degrees C). For the last 45 minutes, remove the foil to allow the turkey to brown nicely.
  5. Once cooked, let the turkey rest before carving and serving. Enjoy your savory herb-infused turkey roast!
