Cooking Time: 310 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 12 Pounds (lb) whole turkey
- 6 Tablespoons (tbsp) butter, divided
- 4 Cups warm water
- 3 Tablespoons (tbsp) chicken bouillon
- 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) dried parsley
- 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) dried onion, minced
- 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) seasoning salt
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Rinse and wash the turkey, discarding the giblets or adding them to the pan if desired.
- Place the turkey in a Dutch oven or roasting pan. Gently separate the skin over the breast to create small pockets. Insert 3 tablespoons of butter on both sides between the skin and breast meat for extra juiciness.
- In a medium bowl, mix the warm water with chicken bouillon. Add the parsley and minced onion, then pour the mixture over the turkey. Sprinkle seasoning salt evenly over the turkey.
- Cover the turkey with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 3 1/2 to 4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 180 degrees F (80 degrees C). For the last 45 minutes, remove the foil to allow the turkey to brown nicely.
- Once cooked, let the turkey rest before carving and serving. Enjoy your savory herb-infused turkey roast!
