  • 4 Cups crumbled cornbread
  • 0.5 Cups butter, melted
  • 1 Medium onion, minced
  • 1 Cup celery, minced
  • 2 Large eggs, whisked
  • 2 Cups chicken stock
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) dried sage
  • Pinch salt, to taste
  • Pinch black pepper, to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Crumble the cornbread into a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced onion and minced celery, sautéing until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Transfer the sautéed vegetables to the bowl of crumbled cornbread.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the chicken stock, whisked eggs, dried sage, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Pour the stock mixture over the cornbread and vegetables, stirring gently to combine.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the dressing is set.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
