Ingredients

  • 1 Cup water
  • 0.75 Cup white sugar
  • 1 12 Ounces (oz) package fresh cranberries
  • 1 Cup apples, peeled
  • 0.5 Cup cider vinegar
  • 0.5 Cup raisins
  • 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) cinnamon, ground
  • 0.25 Teaspoon (tsp) ginger, ground
  • 0.25 Teaspoon (tsp) allspice, ground
  • 0.125 Teaspoon (tsp) cloves, ground

Steps

  1. Gather all ingredients and prepare them as described.
  2. In a medium saucepan, bring the water and sugar to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Add the cranberries, apples, cider vinegar, raisins, cinnamon, ginger, allspice, and cloves to the saucepan.
  4. Return the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer gently, stirring often, for about 10 minutes.
  5. Pour the mixture into a mixing bowl.
  6. Place plastic wrap directly on the surface of the chutney to prevent a skin from forming.
  7. Let the chutney cool to room temperature before serving.
