Ingredients

  • 8 Ounces (oz) fettuccine, dried
  • 3 Tablespoons (tbsp) butter
  • 2 Cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 Tablespoons (tbsp) all-purpose flour
  • 1 Pinch salt, to taste
  • 1 Pinch black pepper, to taste
  • 0.5 Teaspoons (tsp) cayenne pepper
  • 2 Cups half-and-half
  • 1 4 Ounces (oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 0.5 Cups Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 8 Ounces (oz) crabmeat, flaked

Steps

  1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente. Drain and keep warm, covered.
  2. In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 2 minutes, being careful not to brown the garlic.
  3. Stir in the flour, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Reduce the heat and cook, stirring constantly, for about 2 minutes.
  4. Gradually add the half-and-half, stirring over medium heat until the mixture slightly thickens, about 3 minutes.
  5. Add the cream cheese and Parmesan cheese to the sauce, stirring until the cheeses melt and the mixture is smooth.
  6. Mix in the flaked crabmeat and continue cooking until the crabmeat is heated through, about 3 minutes.
  7. Divide the fettuccine between plates or bowls and top with the creamy crab sauce. Serve immediately.
