Ingredients
- 0.5 Cups buttermilk ranch dressing
- 0.25 Cups cucumber, peeled
- 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) milk
- 1.5 Teaspoons (tsp) prepared horseradish
- 1 Teaspoon (tsp) wasabi powder
- 0.125 Teaspoons (tsp) salt
- 1 Pinch cayenne pepper, to taste
- 4 Cups vegetable broth
- 0.5 Pounds fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 Whole egg, whisked
- 1 Cup milk
- 1 Cup all-purpose flour
- 1 Cup dry bread crumbs
- 0.75 Tablespoons (tbsp) salt
- 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) ground black pepper
- 0.25 Teaspoon (tsp) garlic powder
- 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) onion powder
- 1.5 Inches vegetable oil, for frying
Steps
- Prepare the dip by blending the buttermilk ranch dressing, cucumber, milk, horseradish, wasabi powder, salt, and cayenne pepper on low speed until well mixed. Transfer to a small bowl and refrigerate to thicken.
- In a saucepan, bring the vegetable broth to a boil over medium-high heat. Add the green beans, cover, and simmer on medium heat until they are bright green and tender, about 8 minutes. Drain and set aside to cool.
- In a shallow bowl, mix the whisked egg with milk. Place flour in another shallow bowl. In a third bowl, combine bread crumbs, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Coat each green bean by dipping it first in flour, then in the egg mixture, and finally in the bread crumb mixture. Place coated beans on a plate.
- Heat 1.5 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry the beans in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and allow to cool.
- Serve the crispy green beans with the chilled horseradish-wasabi dip. Enjoy!
