Ingredients

  • 1 Cup water
  • 1 Cup white sugar
  • 12 Ounces (oz) bag fresh cranberries, drained
  • 3 Medium jalapeño peppers, minced
  • 2 Teaspoons (tsp) lemon juice
  • 0.5 Cup sherry

Steps

  1. Gather all the ingredients.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, mix water and sugar until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to boil, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the cranberries, jalapeño peppers, and lemon juice to the saucepan. Return to a boil.
  4. Reduce the heat to a gentle simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries have broken down and the sauce has thickened, about 10 to 25 minutes. Stir in the sherry.
  5. Remove from heat and let the sauce cool to room temperature. Serve immediately or transfer to a glass container, cover, and refrigerate until ready to serve.
