Ingredients

  • 1 Cup fat-free plain yogurt
  • 0.5 Tablespoons cayenne pepper
  • 6 Cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 2-Inch pieces fresh ginger root, minced
  • 2 Tablespoons cilantro, minced
  • 1 Tablespoon ground coriander seed
  • 1 Teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 Teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 4 6 Ounces (oz) skinless, boneless salmon fillets

Steps

  1. Combine the yogurt, cayenne pepper, garlic, ginger, cilantro, ground coriander, cumin, salt, and turmeric in a resealable plastic bag. Close the bag and mix everything together until evenly combined.
  2. Add the salmon fillets to the bag and toss until well coated with the marinade. Refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to infuse.
  3. Preheat the broiler and lightly grease a baking pan.
  4. Remove the salmon from the marinade, shaking off any excess, and discard the remaining marinade.
  5. Place the salmon on the prepared pan and broil in the preheated oven until the salmon flakes easily with a fork, about 5 to 7 minutes per side.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with additional cilantro if desired. Enjoy your flavorful and tender salmon!
