Serving Size: 8
Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Ingredients
- 2.25 Cups all-purpose flour
- 1 Teaspoon (tsp) salt
- 0.5 Cup vegetable oil
- 3 Tablespoons (tbsp) cold water
- 0.67 Cup white sugar
- 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) cinnamon, ground
- 3 Cups fresh blackberries
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon of salt. Create a well in the center and pour in 0.5 cup of vegetable oil and 3 tablespoons of cold water. Stir until the mixture forms a dough.
- Divide the dough into two balls, using 3/4 of the dough for the first ball and 1/4 for the second. Roll out the larger ball between sheets of wax paper to prevent crumbling, then line an 8-inch pie pan with it. Roll out the smaller ball similarly and set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix 0.67 cup of white sugar, 0.25 cup of all-purpose flour, and 0.5 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. In a large bowl, gently toss the fresh blackberries with the sugar mixture until coated.
- Spread the blackberry filling into the dough-lined pie pan. Cover with the top crust, pinching the edges to seal. Poke holes in the top crust to allow steam to escape. Line the edges with foil to prevent burning.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 45 minutes, or until the crust is lightly browned and the filling is hot and bubbly.
