Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) walnut oil
  • 2 Pounds (lb) Brussels sprouts, sliced
  • 1 Medium orange, zested
  • 0.25 Cups walnuts, chopped
  • 1 Pinch salt, to taste
  • 1 Pinch ground black pepper, to taste

Steps

  1. Evenly spread the walnut oil over the bottom of a large, heavy skillet set over medium-high heat. Place the Brussels sprouts, cut-sides down, in the skillet; cook until lightly browned, about 5 to 10 minutes.
  2. Pour the orange juice over the sprouts and continue cooking until tender, about 5 minutes. Transfer the sprouts and juice to a large bowl.
  3. In a small skillet over medium heat, cook the walnuts, stirring frequently, until lightly toasted, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the toasted walnuts to the Brussels sprouts along with the orange zest. Gently toss and season with salt and pepper to taste.
