Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) peanut oil
  • 0.25 Cups garlic, minced
  • 1 Pound (lb) chicken breast, ground
  • 12 Thai chiles, sliced
  • 2 Teaspoons (tsp) black soy sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) fish sauce
  • 1 Cup basil leaves, torn

Steps

  1. Heat a wok over high heat until smoking. Pour in the peanut oil, then immediately add the minced garlic. Stir-fry the garlic until it begins to turn golden brown, about 20 seconds.
  2. Mix in the ground chicken and continue cooking and stirring until the meat is crumbly and no longer pink, about 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in the sliced chilies, soy sauce, and fish sauce. Cook for about 15 seconds to soften the chilies.
  4. Add the basil leaves and continue cooking until the basil has wilted.
  5. Serve hot with steamed rice if desired.
