  • 2 Pounds (lb) venison stew meat
  • 3 Medium onions, minced
  • 2 Whole garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Whole bay leaf
  • 0.5 Teaspoons (tsp) dried thyme
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) salt
  • 3 Cups water
  • 7 Small potatoes, peeled
  • 1 Pound (lb) parsnip, minced
  • 0.25 Cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 Cups water

Steps

  1. In a large soup pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the venison stew meat and brown it deeply on all sides.
  2. Stir in the minced onions and minced garlic, cooking until the onions are translucent.
  3. Add the Worcestershire sauce, bay leaf, dried thyme, salt, and 3 cups of water to the pot. Stir well to combine.
  4. Cover the pot and let the stew simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the venison is tender.
  5. Add the peeled potatoes and minced parsnips to the pot. Continue cooking until the vegetables are tender.
