Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) brown sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) garlic powder
  • 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) onion powder
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) chili powder
  • 1.5 Teaspoons (tsp) ancho chile powder
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) chipotle chile powder
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) salt-free seasoning blend
  • 1 Pinch salt, to taste
  • 1 Pinch black pepper, to taste
  • 1 - 2 Pounds (lb) flat iron steak
  • 0.25 Cups vegetable oil

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, ancho chile powder, chipotle chile powder, salt-free seasoning blend, salt, and black pepper until thoroughly blended.
  2. Sprinkle the spice mixture over both sides of the flat iron steak and rub it into the meat. Cover the steak and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 days for enhanced flavor.
  3. Before cooking, drizzle the steak with vegetable oil and rub the oil into the meat.
  4. Cook the steak using your preferred method: grill, broil, or pan-fry until it reaches your desired level of doneness.
  5. Serve the steak with slices of avocado for an added touch of freshness. Enjoy!
