Ingredients

  • 0.25 Cups (cup) light soy sauce
  • 0.25 Cups (cup) sake
  • 0.25 Cups (cup) mirin
  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) white sugar
  • 2 6 Ounces (oz) salmon fillets, marinated
  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) vegetable oil

Steps

  1. Mix the soy sauce, sake, mirin, and sugar in a shallow dish. Place the salmon fillets in the dish, skin side up. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight to marinate.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Drain the salmon and reserve the marinade.
  3. Pan fry the salmon for 4 to 5 minutes per side, gradually adding the reserved marinade to the pan. This will intensify the flavor and help keep the salmon moist.
