Ingredients

  • 0.5 Cups (cups) butter
  • 1 Cups (cups) white sugar
  • 2 Whole eggs
  • 1 Teaspoons (tsp) almond extract
  • 2 Cups (cups) all-purpose flour
  • 1 Teaspoons (tsp) baking powder
  • 1 Teaspoons (tsp) baking soda
  • 0.5 Teaspoons (tsp) salt
  • 1 Cups (cups) sour cream
  • 8 Ounces (oz) whole cranberry sauce

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the almond extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture, alternating with the sour cream.
  6. Pour one-third of the batter into the prepared tube pan. Swirl half of the cranberry sauce into the batter.
  7. Repeat the layering process, ending with the batter on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 55 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
