Ingredients

  • 6 Cloves garlic, divided
  • 0.75 Cups mayonnaise
  • 6 Tablespoons (tbsp) Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 5 Anchovy fillets, minced
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) lemon juice
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) Dijon mustard
  • 1 Pinch salt, to taste
  • 1 Pinch ground black pepper, to taste
  • 0.25 Cups olive oil
  • 4 Cups day-old bread, cubed
  • 1 Head romaine lettuce, torn

Steps

  1. Gather all ingredients.
  2. Mince 3 cloves of garlic and place them in a small bowl. Add mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese, anchovies, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard; mix well to combine. Season to taste with salt and black pepper. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Slice the remaining 3 cloves of garlic into quarters and add to hot oil. Cook and stir until brown, then remove garlic from the pan.
  4. Cook bread cubes in the hot flavored oil, turning frequently, until lightly browned; transfer onto a plate and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Place torn romaine lettuce in a large bowl. Add the prepared dressing, remaining Parmesan cheese, and seasoned bread cubes; toss well to coat.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy!
