Ingredients
- 2 Cups (c) butter
- 3 Cups (c) all-purpose flour
- 3 Cups (c) cake flour
- 1.5 Cups (c) white sugar
- 0.5 Cups (c) cornstarch
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a large mixing bowl, place the butter (do not soften). Add the all-purpose flour, cake flour, white sugar, and cornstarch. Mix with your hands until the mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. The dough will be very lumpy.
- Spread a portion of the dough into the bottom of a glass pie pan, pressing it firmly to about 1/2 inch thickness.
- Place the pan in the oven and bake until the edges are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and use a fork to create perforations in the shortbread.
- Allow the shortbread to cool slightly, then remove it from the pie pan by covering it with a plate and flipping it over. The shortbread should fall out in one piece.
- Let it cool completely before serving. Enjoy your homemade Fraser Shortbread!
