- 6 Skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
- 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) butter, melted
- 1 0.7 Ounces (oz) package dry Italian-style salad dressing mix
- 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) butter
- 1 Small onion, sliced
- 3 Cloves garlic, minced
- 1 10.75 Ounces (oz) can condensed cream of chicken soup
- 0.5 Cups chicken broth
- 1 8 Ounces (oz) package cream cheese
Steps
- Place the chicken breast halves in the slow cooker crock. Top with 2 tablespoons of melted butter and sprinkle with the Italian dressing mix.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on High for 3 hours.
- In a large skillet, heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and minced garlic, cooking and stirring until the onion is soft, about 5 minutes.
- Mix in the cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, and softened cream cheese. Stir until well combined.
- Pour the mixture over the cooked chicken in the slow cooker.
- Cover and continue to cook on Low until the chicken is fork-tender and the sauce has thickened, about 1 additional hour.
